Why Are You THINKING, SPEAKING, and ACTING The Way You Do? You Must UNDERSTAND Your EVIL INCLINATION (Heb. Yetzer Hara) And Its Origin.

The EVIL INCLINATION (Heb. YETZER HARA) inside every Human Being is controlling him/her as a Puppet, even to react negatively to the supernal Truth from God The FATHER and CHRIST.

THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD & EVIL IS THE SOURCE OF YETZER HARA

The First Man, ADAM, was originally made as a PURE JEW, without the Evil Inclination (see the article, "ADAM IS THE FIRST JEW" for more information). When ADAM sinned, the purity of man's Jewishness was contaminated with the impurity (Gentileship) of the primordial Serpent.

The word "KNOWLEDGE" came from the Hebrew word DA'ATH. 

From Strong's Dictionary, DA'ATH (H1847) means Knowledge, Cunning. This came from the word YADA (H3045), a primitive root, which means to know (properly to ascertain by seeing).

Da'ath can mean Intimacy, Attachment, Application, Internalization. This is the knowledge that leads to intimate relationship and close interaction, as between husband and wife, as in Genesis 4:1.

• Adam knew (Yada) his wife Eve intimately, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain... (Gen 4:1)

So, we can rename the Tree of Knowledge as the, "Tree of the Intimacy between Good and Evil."

HOW DID YETZER HARA ENTER MAN?

Before the Sin, the EVIL is outside of Adam. It only exists at the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil (Etz haDaat Tov veRa). Yetzer Hara is necessary for the functioning of the Physical Creations and the KABBALAH Wisdom of the Creations.  

ADAM was created to be SPIRITUAL and MYSTICAL => To Know the supernal MESSIANIC KABBALAH Wisdom of The CREATOR. Therefore, The LORD God prohibited Adam to eat from the Tree of Good and Evil (Genesis 2:17):

• You must NOT eat from the Tree of Knowledge (Da'ath) of Good and Evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly DIE. (Gen 2:17)

Unfortunately, Adam did not listen to the voice of God his Creator. Instead, He listened to the voice of his wife, who listened to the voice of the Serpent.

In other words, the EVIL INCLINATION (Heb. YETZER HARA) from the forbidden TREE OF KNOWLEDGE Entered and Contaminated Human Nature; as Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden non-kosher TREE. From that time on, all Human Beings that came from Adam, were born with this Impurity or Carnality, that sways Mankind even today; to go against God The FATHER and CHRIST.

WHY IS MAN THINKING, SPEAKING, and ACTING THE WAY HE DOES? Why Is Man Not Willing To Apply God's Spiritual Laws?

WHY is man interested only at the Physical Level? This is because he is not willing to apply God's Spiritual Laws. Why is he not willing to apply God's Spiritual Laws? Because of the Evil Inclination (Heb. Yetzer Hara) that is now an integral part of the Psychology of every Human Being. And all Psychologists in the world are ignorant of this Yetzer Hara.

A Kabbalistic explanation is necessary to understand this vital subject of Yetzer Hara. Inside every Human Being are two opposing Forces or Personalities: 

1. The YETZER HARA, known as the Evil Inclination, and
2. The YETZER HATOV, called the Good Inclination. This is the pure Divine Force that gravitates to the Great Creator God.

If these two opposing forces are not fully understood, EVERY Person will naturally gravitate to the side of the Yetzer Hara; because of Man's FALL and Disobedience to God's Command. Yetzer Hara resides in the Psyche or Mind & Heart of every Human Being. 

YETZER HARA (EVIL INCLINATION) MUST BE EXPLAINED TO EVERY HUMAN BEING

The core teaching and main goal of every Preacher, Church, and Religion, must be to awaken people about the powerful influence and control of the Yetzer Hara (Evil Inclination) in their lives. They should then teach people HOW TO OVERCOME and finally cleanse themselves of this Evil Inclination. Any Preacher, Church, and Religion that fails to do this is a great failure in their job; and Jesus Christ will finally destroy them at His Return!

Now, let's understand this mysterious enemy of Mankind that resides in the Psyche of every Human Being. 

• Because the CARNAL MIND is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the Law of God, neither indeed can be. (Rom 8:7 KJV)

According to the ZOHAR, the Spiritual Light, Wisdom, and Blessings from the upper world can never illuminate our lower world until our Evil Inclination is conquered and our character transformed. 

Man's evil tendencies are the strength and power of the Serpent. As long as the Evil Inclination remain within us, the Angel of Death will prevail over our physical existence.

For us to survive in this world, and to be given Eternal Life in the next world, we must learn to hate and overcome our Evil Inclination.

The Zohar likens the Evil Inclination to some of the ships sailing in the great sea, as written in Job 9:26. Some are called enemy ships, the ships of the serpent sailing among them. This means that every human being here on Earth, as he or she walks and lives his/her life here on earth, the enemy Evil Inclination is always walking and living with them.

THE BIRTH OF THE HUMAN EGO AND PRIDE
 
The knowledge (intimacy) of evil entered into Adam. It infiltrated his flesh, linked itself in his soul, and was grafted onto his most basic drives and desires. The Yetzer Hara then manipulated man's desire to receive into a desire to receive for the self alone.
 
Thus, the selfish human ego was born inside the first couple (Adam and Eve), radically changing man's behavior and perception. And this change in human nature infected every human being that came out from Adam and Eve.

• ...man's inclination (Heb. YETZER) is evil from his youth...  (Gen 8:21) 

This changed aspect of receiving in a selfish manner is the "ROOT OF ALL EVIL." Yetzer Hara became part and parcel of human nature. Adam now became an impure stranger in the Garden of Eden. This prompted God to drive him out of the Garden; into a world of pain, hard labor, sufferings, deception, and death. These hardships and sufferings are the fruits of that forbidden Tree. These fruits can also be the motivation for man to stop eating and escape from the grasp of this evil Tree of Knowledge.

The Yetzer Hara has many names: Evil Inclination, Ego, the Satan, the angel of Death, the impure spirit, Deceiver, etc.
